Bulgarian short track champion Evgenia Radanova won for the seventh time in her career the absolute European title from the short track speed skating championship in Sheffield, UK.
The Bulgarian finished first in the 500m, 1000m and 3000m disciplines, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Poor performance due to a fall in the 1500m discipline made finishing first in the other disciplines necessary for the absolute title.
Radanova said that if she was in good physical shape, she would strive for another Eueropean absolute champion title.
"It is very hard to maintain the position when one is first," said Radanova. "I am glad I won this battle," said she.
The Bulgarian team will return from the UK to Bulgaria on January 22. A press conference would be given on January 23, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Bernie Ecclestone will meet with a Bulgarian Motorcycling Federation (BMF) delegation on July 10-12 in what Bulgarian organisers hope would translate in adding Bulgaria to the Formula One calendar.
Michael Owen joining Manchester United would be the equivalent of the Pope becoming Protestant.
