One person dead and one injured was the result of a shooting that took place in the early hours of June 18 2008 in a night club in the Zlatni Pyasutsi (Golden Sands) resort on the Black Sea, Varna regional police said on its website.
At 1.20am, police in Varna received information that one person had been shot in the Malibu nightclub in the resort.
When police officers arrived at the scene of the incident, they discovered that a group of men who knew each other had started a shooting among themselves, the police statement said. Two men were shot and taken to hospital by motor vehicles by their friends. One of the victims, 34-years-old VM from the nearby town of Varna, died on the way. Police said he had numerous wounds as a result of the shooting.
The other victim, who survived the shooting, was 30-years-old IS from the town of Dolni Chiflik. Police said that both men had criminal records. Both had been barred from leaving the country as well.
Police seized a total of six firearms from the group that started the shooting and eight of the men involved are currently under questioning.
