A GENERAL meeting of creditors of the Varna Shipyard on Monday decided that expenses for electricity, water and security and fire safety services incurred by the facility since April 12 should be paid by the new owner, Navigation Maritime Bulgare (Navibulgar).
April 12 was the date when the District Court of Varna issued an ordinance allowing Navibulgar to acquire the shipyard.
The document was delivered only on May 31 because Pernik-based Evrometal, the other bidder for the shipyard’s assets and property rights, challenged the results of the April 2 bidding.
Navibulgar will contest the decision regarding the expenses, Navibulgar Director General Geno Genov said after the meeting. Alterna-tively, these expenses should be included in the bankruptcy statement, but the other creditors rejected this option.
