Three severe traffic incidents occurred on Sunday September 9 caused by high speed, and alcohol use.

Three men died and six were seriously injured, Interior Ministry said.

The first accident happened around 11:30 am at the entrance of the town of Samokov. An Opel with Kyustendil registration traveling from Dupnitsa to Ihtiman did not observe the ''stop'' sign and collided with a Volkswagen Golf traveling from Samokov to Sofia. The driver of the Volkswagen died immediately, a pregnant woman and her husband were seriously injured.

The driver of the Opel and his companion remained unhurt.

Another incident occurred at 5:55 am near Mezdra. Two cars from Vratsa collided. One of the drivers, a 22 year-old police officer died immediately, four people were seriously injured.

Around 1:00 am a car crashed into a concrete wall. The 28 year old driver's companion died. The probably reason for the incident is high speed and drunk-driving.
