Literally, van-loads full of documents were confiscated from the Bul Ins insurance company building at Sofia's James Bourchier boulevard during a special police and prosecution operation on November 8, Dnevnik daily said. The prosecution believed the documents could be used in the money laundering investigation against the brothers Krassimir and Nikolai Marinovi and their associates.
Whether the documents, which according to the Bulgarian News Agency BTA were loaded into several minivans, would be of service to the investigation would become clear in about 10 days, representatives of the prosecution said.
Apart from the Sofia offices, offices of the company in Dupnitsa, Velingrad and Pazardjik were searched.
The materials gathered in the Marinovi brothers (aka the Margins) offices in Sofia would satisfy the prosecution, Interior Minister Roumen Petkov said. He added that the confiscated materials were yet to be analysed and that it was too early to make any comments.
The police action was ordered by the Supreme Cassation Prosecution and the City Prosecution, Petkov added.
