Seven Babies Born on Christmas in St Sofia hospital

Seven babies were born on the eve of Christmas in the hospital St Sofia, in Sofia. The director of the medical facility Dr Metodii Yankov said that the babies were born between 7pm on December 24 and 7 am Christmas day. Four of the babies are girls and three are boys.

Two of the babies were born through incision and the rest were delivered normally.

Come lunch-time on December 25, St Sofia hospital was expecting two more mothers to give birth.

Focus news agency reported that on Christmas eve and early Christmas day, throughout Bulgaria, one baby girl was born in Shumen, and two babies, a boy and a girl, were born in Smolyan. Five babies were born in Sliven, three in Blagoevgrad and four in the St Anna hospital in Varna, Focus news agency said.

The first Christmas baby however was a boy, born in Pazardzik, Focus news agency said
