Serbian pop-music legend Lepa Brena will stage a two-hour concert in Sofia’s Nai Club on April 16 2008. Brena’s orchestra Slatki Greh (Sweet Sin) was also coming to Bulgaria for the gig, avtora.com said on March 27.
It is Lepa Brena's first visit to Bulgaria in 17 years. During her last trip, in 1990, more than 100 000 people went to see her show at Vassil Levski stadium in Sofia, which remains among the record high crowds for concerts in the country.
In the 1980s and early 1990s, Brena was a real legend in Bulgaria and her music has a significant influence to the local pop-folk music.
Lepa Brena’s concert in Nai Club is part of the initiative of club owner Petar Lashov to invite popular foreign musicians. Greek Katy Garbi, Serbian Ceca Velickovic and Bosnia-born Goran Bregović have already had gigs in the club.
