On March 31, 2008 Niška televizija (NTV) starts broadcasting news in Bulgarian twice daily, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said in a media statement.

The project is realised with the cooperation of Bulgaria's general consulate in Niš. It was presented on March 28 2008, at a special press conference in Niš, attended by Bulgaria's general consul in Niš Georgi Yuroukov and NTV director Slaviša Popović.

Broadcasting news in Bulgarian is a positive impulse for the development of Bulgarian-Serb relations, for which the Bulgarian national minority in Serbia is an important factor, as well as for the European integration of Serbia, Yuroukov said.
