The Bulgarian Transport Ministry's Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) ordered increased aviation security measures, Focus news agency reported.
The order was enforced on July 18 due to the conflict in Lebanon. The order was confirmed after the anti-terrorism operation in London on August 10. British police detained 21 people in relation to a terrorist act involving civil planes.
CAA recommended strict keeping of the security measures.
Up to the moment all Bulgarian carriers keep the schedule and no flights to London have been cancelled.
Several European and international air carriers cancelled their flights to London. Serbian company JAT, Greek Olympic Airlines, Romanian TAROM and Lufthansa cancelled their flights to London. All civil flights from Brussels are also cancelled, Focus said.
Russia will not cancel any flights to the United Kingdom, but the passenger control will be tightened.
Croatian capital airport Pleso, and the Cyprian airport in Larnaca increased the security measures.
British Airways, Cyprus Airways and Australian Qantas forbade hand luggage, Focus said.
British Airways plans to cancel all the flights from and to European destinations.
