The second stage of the national HIV/AIDS prevention campaign will start on February 14, Health Ministry representatives said.

Mobile cabinets of seven non-governmental organisations will provide free anonymous consultations and HIV examination to students in Sofia, Varna, Bourgas, Plovdiv, Rousse and Veliko Turnovo.

At the same time volunteers from the youth Red Cross will distribute information brochures. Increasing awareness among students is expected to inform the entire society, Deputy Health Minister Atanas Dodov said.

The information website www.aidsprogram.bg will also start functioning tomorrow, director of the national HIV/AIDS prevention programme Tonka Vurleva said.

In 2005 8500 requested HIV examination, twice as many as during 2004, Focus news agency reported.
