Bulgaria defeated for the second time on June 6 Belarus in a Euro 2008 qualification match.

The match, in which Bulgaria registered a 2:1 victory, is of extreme importance for the country’s participation in the European championship.

All of the goals were scored in the first half. Belarus took an early lead in the fourth minute.

Martin Petrov contributed to an even score. Despite recently received trauma, Petrov was able to take part in the match alongside his teammates.

Bulgaria made various mistakes but took the lead in the 40th minute. Chavdar Yankov scored the second goal, contributing to the final score.

Under the management of coach Stanimir Stoilov Bulgaria gained six points for its overall score. Stoilov guided the national team only in the two matches against Belarus. He will now return to coaching Levski football club and a new national team coach has to be appointed.
