French president Nicolas Sarkozy said that there was no link between the release of the Bulgarian medics and an agreement by France to assist Libya in building a nuclear power station, Bulgaria's Focus news agency reported, quoting AFP.
According to Sarkozy, the only thing that connected the two is that he would not have visited Libya if the nurses had not been released. He said that even though Libya had terminated its nuclear weapons development programme in 2003, it still had 1600 tons of uranium.
