One of the main lawyers of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein was killed in Iraq's capital Baghdad, BBC reported.
According to state television, terrorists were responsible for the killing of Khamis al-Obeidi. No further information was revealed.
Men wearing uniforms kidnapped al-Obeidi from his home, Associated Press reported.
Two of Hussein's defence lawyers were already killed last year. On November 8 one of the attorneys was shot dead. Previously his colleague was kidnapped and killed, BBC reported.
The development comes after the prosecution in Hussein's trial requested his execution.
The closing arguments of the prosecution focused on death sentences for Hussein and some of his associates for previously committed war crimes, BBC reported.
