Metal legends Black Sabbath will play a concert in Sofia, at the Lokomotiv stadium, on June 23. The gig is a part of the traditional musical festival Arena Muzika organised by Sofia Music Enterprises, which has brought bands like The Manhattan Transfer, Stereo MC’s, HIM, Whitesnake, Peter Gabriel, Judas Priest and Queensryche to Bulgaria in previous years of the festival.
Black Sabbath will come to Sofia in their original line-up from the end of the 1960’s - Ozzy Osbourne, vocals, Tony Iommi, guitar, Bill Ward, drums, and Geezer Butler, bass. After their reunion in this line-up in 1998, Black Sabbath have been taking part in various festivals, like Ozzfest, organised by Ozzy’s wife Sharon, and have released one album, Reunion.
The support at the Sofia concert will include Zakk Wylde, longtime guitarist for Ozzy and co-author of many of his songs between 1987 and 1995, and the Bulgarian bands Ahat, and Sheki and the Bloodyboys.
Tickets cost between 30 and 35 leva and are already on sale in Sofia at Funky’s Music Hall, the NDK box office, ONDA Spot accross from the Russian Church and the larger music stores in Sofia and across the country.
