Journalists from specialised independent Russian publications will start a one-month wine tour of Bulgaria.
The organiser of the event was the Bulgarian Industrial Centre in Moscow, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.
The initiative wanted to popularise Bulgarian wine and its production in Russia through the journalists' publications, Alexander Ivanov, chief specialist from the centre said.
Journalists had chosen the regions that they wanted to visit themselves. The tour would start from Sofia. Afterwards the journalists would go to various wine companies in Sandanski, Plovdiv, Lyubimets, Sliven, the village of Korten and Rousse.
This is the first route for specialised publications playing a major role in the popularisation of Bulgarian wines among Russian consumers. Russian tour operators offer wine trips as one of the new tourism products for Bulgaria.
