The upcoming European Commission (EC) monitoring report on Bulgaria’s reform progress will be harsh, member of the ruling tripartite coalition Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) said.
The report will be presented on March 31.
Novinar newspaper cited MRF sources as saying that the report will be the most negative Bulgaria has seen so far.
The ruling coalition will hold a summit next week to discuss its strategy for meeting EU criticism and coming up with measures to deal with it.
Bulgaria once again expects negative monitoring on the fight against organised crime and corruption.
Healthcare and the national health strategy will also feature among the summit topics of discussion, Novinar reported. Health Minister Radoslav Gaidarski said that he will present the strategy which has already been updated.
The final EC analysis presented before Bulgaria’s EU entry said that the country will have to report on its progress and monitoring reports for the problematic areas will be issued on a regular basis.
