National Movement Simeon II (NMSII), one of the parties in the ruling coalition, denied claims it will support the no-confidence motion opposition parties requested for the Cabinet.
NMSII member Anelia Mingova said that the party will remain inside the coalition and still holds its previous political views.
Opposition parties tabled a no-confidence motion in connection to problems in Bulgaria’s healthcare system. Mingova said that such problems existed and NMSII was doing its best to affect positively healthcare policies.
Parties had the will to solve problems but tension needed to escalate before specific action was undertaken, Mingova said.
Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), another party in the ruling coalition, said that the vote aimed to destabilise the coalition.
To counter such developments MRF will refrain from supporting the motion, Bulgarian National Radio reported.
Cabinet has the potential to carry out adequate policies and complete Bulgaria’s healthcare reforms, MRF member Liutvi Mestan said.
Mestan and Mingova’s comments came as response to media reports that some of the parties in the ruling coalition might support the opposition motion. Some analysts have been predicting a split within the tripartite coalition.
