Whenever someone suggests changes in governance, a viable option should be offered, President Georgi Purvanov said.
Purvanov said that he would support political stability and all options that will lead to Bulgaria’s success in the EU.
Offering an alternative to the current Cabinet should list policies and people to execute such, Purvanov said. He commented on claims that the members of European Parliament (MEP) election results could lead to changes in the political status-quo.
A change in the political model is needed, Purvanov said. The ruling coalition is stable enough but should start addressing social issues.
Apart from ending the mandate successfully, the Cabinet should contribute to positive developments in the country, Purvanov said. These include results in the fight against corruption and organised crime.
Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) is emerging as strong opposition after the elections. In the future the party would continue gaining support, Purvanov said.
The party has no to decide what kind of support it wants and what its attitude towards the ruling majority would be, he said.
