Oscar-winner Ronald Harwood will be a guest of honour at the third Students’ Film Festival Early Bird in Sofia.

Harwood received an Oscar award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the screenplay of The Pianist, directed by Roman Polanski.

The festival will be held between November 1 and 4 2007 in Dom na Kinoto.

Participants from universities in Serbia, Greece, Croatia, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria will take part in the festival

More than 50, mainly short films will take part in the festival. The Bulgarian Kristina Grozeva’s film Game, which won top honours at the International One-Minute Film Festival Filminute is also included in the fest. Game won the jury-awarded Best Filminute prize and also ranked first for the festival audience award.

The jury includes representatives from Argentina, Israel, Belgium and Bulgaria. The opening is on November 1 2007 at 2pm in Dom na Kinoto cinema.
