Night clubs in the Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Sunny Beach recently started to play only Romanian music.
Romanian tourists discovered the Bulgarian Black Sea as one of preferred destinations for their summer holidays, Der Standard reported.
The past weekend alone, nearly 20 000 Romanians visited the border resorts of Balchik, Albena and Golden Sands.
Der Standart quoted a local saleswoman as saying that it was cheap for Romanians to come in Bulgaria.
National Statistical Institute (NSI) data showed that nearly five million tourists have visited Bulgaria in 2006. Their number is expected to increase by 1.5 million in summer 2007. Bulgaria gained two billion euro in 2007 from tourism only.
Der Standard also referred to regular complaints by tourists concerning the ongoing construction works in the resorts.
Bulgarian parliament recently approved a law that will prohibit construction works in the area 100m from the coastline. Despite the ban, many state approved construction projects fail to comply.Environmentalists said as quoted by the report that the law came a little bit late as a large part of the Black Sea coast will be overbuild by 2008 when the law will become valid.
