The Romanian economy surpasses Bulgaria in all fields, and market mechanisms are functioning better than in Bulgaria.
Bulgaria’s lead in tourism was only an economic coincidence, Romanian newspaper Gandul said.
The property market in Romania left Bulgaria behind by a couple of years and foreign investors have started preferring Romania, the paper said. Bulgaria’s property was overestimated and the boom of real estate deals was heading towards its end.
Romania also managed to attract more multinational companies, forcing an increasing number of Bulgarians to learn Romanian and to search for work in the country.
Gandul emphasised that monthly wages in Rousse had risen because employers were afraid that their workers may leave for Romania.
The newspaper quoted opposition party Democrats for Strong Bulgaria leader Ivan Kostov as saying that investments in Romania were developing very fast.
The average monthly salary in Bulgaria was the lowest in the EU, at 187 euro, while in Romania it was 307 euro, Gandul said.
