Proper utilisation of financial resources from various funds should see the involvement of Roma representatives in the planning, execution and monitoring process, founder of Open Society Institute (OSI) George Soros said.
Soros took part in a Decade of Roma Inclusion summit taking place in Sofia.
A workgroup should evaluate the results of Roma social inclusion initiatives, Soros said.
Bulgaria should deal with another problem, Soros said, the unwillingness of society to allocate significant amount of funds to Roma integration projects.
The country also faces fund utilisation problems and some of the financial resources remain unused, Soros said.
It is also important for Europe and EU to have Roma inclusion policies and political will to implement these.
During the forum, Bulgarian Labour and Social Policy Minister Emilia Maslarova reported on the steps that the Cabinet has undertaken to guarantee inclusion of minority groups.
These steps mainly targeted professional qualification, education, employment and living conditions.
