A one-year vignette, a road-tax sticker, for cars and transport vehicles with less than eight places would cost 67 leva in 2008, a Government media statement said on November 15.

Prices for one-month and one-week vignettes would be at 25 and 10 leva respectively.

Prices for vignettes for cars with foreign licenses would remain the same, at 34 euro for a one-year vignette, 13 euro for one-month and 5 for one-week.

One-year vignettes for automobiles of more than 3.5 tons would be more expensive, but prices for short term vignettes for these automobiles would be lowered. The aim was to tax proportionally to the continuance of infrastructure use, the media statement said.

Buses with more than eight passenger seats and cars with two axes, would pay 550 leva for a one-year vignette in 2008, compared to 500 leva in 2007. Vignettes for a single month, week or day would become cheaper however. A one-month vignette would cost 95 leva, against 170 leva in 2007. A one-week vignette would cost 35 leva and a one-day vignette 13 leva.

For trucks with more than two axes, specialised construction machinery, cranes, special vehicles for the transport of heavy or oversize loads, the annual tax would amount to 1050 leva, up from 950 leva in 2007.
Short term tax stickers for this class would become cheaper, with a one-month vignette priced at 173 leva, a one-week vignette at 61 leva and a one-day vignette at 13 leva.

All taxes for passing the bridge over the Danube in the direction of Rouse-Gyugevo would go up in 2008. Motorcycles would pay six leva instead of four and cars would be levied 16 leva.
