Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and newly formed Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) are the two parties that have the potential to win most members of European Parliament (MEP) seats in the upcoming elections, sociologists predict.
Bulgarians will select their MEPs on May 20.
Rightist formations will get significantly less support, sociologist Iuri Alsanov said.
Union of Democratic Forces (UFD), National Movement Simeon II (NMSII) and Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) will compete for one MEP position, Aslanov said as quoted by Focus news agency.
Ruling Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and ultra-nationalist movement Ataka will rank just after the leading parties in the elections, according to the prediction.
It is still unclear if BSP or CEDB will get more support, Aslanov said.
Aslanov said that the selection Ataka makes will not affect its electoral support. The movement has stable electorate that is unaffected by individuals, he said.
The situation is the opposite in the right wing, Aslanov said. There, individuals might have crucial impact on the decision voters make.
