On June 18 2007, National Investigative Service director Angel Aleksandrov will announce whether he will leave office.
Prosecutor-General Boris Velchev refused to comment on Alexandrov’s decision though he said that he had an idea what it might be.
Alexandrov is on leave until June 17 2007. He was asked to take a break after a corruption controversy was uncovered in May 2007, mediapool.bg said.
Alexandrov accused Economy and Energy Minister Roumen Ovcharov of threatening him in connection to an investigation.
Ovcharov was also forced to go on leave and he resigned from the ministerial position on June 2 2007.
Prosecution said that evidence gathered was insufficient to continue investigation of the Ovcharov-Alexandrov affair, mediapool.com.
