Bulgaria has to regulate immigration and accept citizens of other countries only if they meet definite education and qualification criteria and complu to the needs of the business, Economic and Social Council (ESC) said.
ESC said as quoted by Darik radio that a special immigration institution should be set up.
ESC presented its suggestions on the implementation of the national programme for reforms in Bulgaria for the period 2006 to 2009. It also proposed monitoring the new work places.
New sources of economic growth by one to two per cent annually have to be found. In addition, investment in the export-oriented industries of the Bulgarian economy should be increased, ESC said.
Accordng to ESC a new evaluation of the negative demographic tendency in Bulgaria should be made. Representatives of ESC said that new mechanisms for improving the financial stability of pension system had to be sought.
Small and medium-sized businesses should occupy a separate segment of the capital market, which will give them opportunities for funding, ESC said.
