Bulgaria could expect record breaking level of US investments in 2006, US ambassador to Bulgaria John Beyrle said as quoted by Darik Radio.

Bulgaria was a stable partner of the US, Beyrle said, and the US appreciated highly Bulgaria's participation in the international peacekeeping mission in Iraq.

Beyrle also said that he expected mutual economic co-operation, which was more important than defence co-operation for both countries.

Information technologies and energy were of particular interest for US investors, he said as quoted by Darik.

US investor were encouraged by the fight against organised crime in Bulgaria and intended to invest more in the country's economy, according to Beyrle.
