RECENT DOWNPOURS AFFECT BULGARIA’S SOFIA, PLOVDIV AND PAZARDZHIK THE MOST

By June 15, municipal disaster-management offices received 3741 signals of damages caused by the recent downpours in Bulgaria.

Agriculture and Forestry Ministry said that a number of wheat fields suffered damage because of the intense rainfall.

The regions of Sofia, Plovdiv and Pazardzhik suffered most damage and biggest number of agriculture plots were flooded there.

Damaged plots were supposed to be used for the growing of wheat, maze, rice and tobacco.

Agriculture and Forestry Ministry said that it will continue monitoring damages to assess the total amount of ruined crops.
