RAINFALL INTENSITY IN BULGARIA DECREASES, REPAIR WORKS CONTINUE

The intensity of rainfall in Bulgaria decreased, allowing emergency teams to work on the damages incurred in the preceding days.

Sofia, as well as other towns in the country experienced floods and infrastructure damages.

The Plovdiv region village of Kalekovets suffered damage after a tornado hit. Regional representatives said that 70 to 80 buildings were damaged.

Strong wind also affected the Sofia region, causing power cuts and breaking windows.

Emergency teams are still pumping water out of the flooded Kniazhevo, Pavlovo, Souhodol and Bukston residential districts in Sofia.

In Plovdiv, emergency teams are removing fallen trees and rocks from the streets.

Pernik and other towns in the region experienced street damage. Emergency teams are pumping water out of flooded ground floors and basements.
