PROSECUTION IN BULGARIA INVESTIGATES COMPANIES BECAUSE OF DEBTS
09:23 Wed 20 Jun 2007

Prosecution will investigate the work of 47 companies because of the debts accumulated in the first five months of the year.

These companies owe the state 60 million leva, Novinar newspaper reported.

National Revenue Agency (NRA) already took away the licenses of 529 companies and 254 are in the process of losing them.

Taxation officers most of the time investigate the work of companies that have failed submitting their assets declarations in the needed term.

Inspectors said that increasing number of companies paid voluntarily their debts.

NRA collected 1.6 billion leva from taxation and other payments since the beginning of the year. The amount is nearly 56 per cent higher in comparison to the funds collected over the same period last year.
