On August 7 2008, organisers Apollonia Art Foundation presented the programme of the famous Apollonia Festival of Arts.
The festival takes place at the end of summer every year in Bulgaria's ancient Black Sea town and resort of Sozopol. This year's edition will be held from August 30 to September 10.
Theatre, music and film are all going to be featured, along with literature events and various exhibitions. “We will have premieres almost every night as this is the challenge before every festival,” Margarita Dimitrova, artistic director of the festival and managing director of Apollonia Art Foundation said.
The festival will host some of the best theatre plays staged recently in Bulgaria, as well as classical music, jazz, pop, rock, swing and ethno concerts and performances by both Bulgarian and foreign artists. There will also be film screenings, book presentations, literature readings and various exhibitions.
