- Bulgaria would be ready to enter Schengen area on March 1 2011, Monitor daily said. In mid-March, Bulgarian Interior Ministry representatives visited Romania to co-ordinate the positions of the two countries.
- The controversy on the double identity of Deputy Foreign Minister Feim Chaushev was growing, according to Sega daily. The minister could turn out having identity documents under two names, Feim and Petar, the newspaper said.
Social
- People, not residents of Sofia, who are coming to the city, would be allowed to stay only 48 hours without registering, according to a suggestion made by Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov. The registration aimed at forcing those who live in Sofia having a residence registration in another settlement to pay taxes in Sofia, Dnevnik daily said.
- Bulgaria would suffer lack of teachers within three years, Sega said. Moreover, some 60 per cent of the school buildings in the country did not meet the EU standards
Economy
- Lakshmi Mittal, brother of current Kremikovtzi steel mill owner, was also interested in the steelworks, according to Dnevnik. Lakshmi Mittal had more chances to buy the plant than Ukrainian businessman Konstantin Zhevago.
