Politics

- Sega daily brands the promise made by agriculture fund director Dimitar Tadarukov to announce the names of members of Parliament (MPs) who received funds from the SAPARD programme, turned out nothing but a PR action. No MP names were announced, instead Tadarukov called on the MPs to volunteer to have their names checked.

Social

- At least 500 schools in Bulgaria would be closed because lack of money, according to Dnevnik daily. The Education Ministry claims that the number of schools to be closed would be four times smaller.

- Residence registration could turn out to be an advantage in applying for a spot in kindergartens, Dnevnik said. The newspaper quoted deputy Sofia mayor Iordanka Fandukova as saying that the city hall was considering taking Sofia residence registration of the parents as an advantage for the enrolling of children in the municipal kindergartens.

- A draft bill, already approved by lawmakers at first reading, would allow the apartment owners in a certain building to expel their neighbours, Sega said, if all residents in the building agree.

Economy

- Businessman Hristo Kovachki has the greatest chance to buy Bobov Dol thermal power plant, according to Dnevnik. The Privatisation Agency had decided to launch a new tender for the privatisation of the plant, slapping a starting price of 100 million leva.
