- Prosecution criticises the Interior Ministry even more that he European Commission does, Sega daily said. Bulgarian prosecutors claim that police failed to resolve half of the crime cases.
Social
- Paintings by Vereshchagin and Nikolai Pavlovich were stolen from NDK, Dnevnik daily reported. The two paintings were part of an exhibition dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria.
Economy
- The privatisation of military repair group Terem will begin by end-March, Dnevnik says. The state would sell its shares in the eight companies of the holding.
- BDZ had "given" new carriages to a Serbian businesswoman, according to Monitor daily. In 2004, the state railways sold 40 new carriages to a German company, owned by a Serbian businesswoman. Transport Minister Petar Moutafchiev was checking the deal and was waiting for the Prosecution to investigate it.
- The state joins the Dundee gold mine concession, Dnevnik says. Bulgaria will hold 25 per cent in the Chelopech concessionaire company and would collect higher concession fees from Dundee.
- Economy Ministry had sold out properties after slight irregularities, Dnevnik wrote. According to the paper, Bulgarian National Audit Office revealed conflict of interests in a project under the PHARE programme.
