Politics

- The prosecutor's office got into its stride at the State Fund Agriculture, Dnevnik daily reported, saying that that on July 7 the police seized the records of five projects that received Sapard funding.

- Parties have cut off the majoritarian element, Sega daily said. Political parties in Bulgaria were not inclined to take seriously the idea of having a direct majoriatarian element in the Parliament elections, which became clear at a discussion on reforming Bulgaria's political system, organised by President Georgi Purvanov. Purvanov remained indignant at the retreat of the politicians and could still call a referendum on the issue, the daily said.

Social

- Dentists and doctors warn of rising prices of dental care and healthcare services, Monitor daily reported.

- Sofiiska voda will temporarily restore water supply to its big debtors during the summer, Sega daily reported.

Economy

- The sobering out in tourism has started, Dnevnik daily reported, saying this was due to the difficulties the tourist branch in Bulgaria encountered over summer season 2008.

- Analysts expect the main indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange to consolidate around the current levels until the end of summer, Dnevnik daily said.
