These are some of the top headlines in Bulgarian newspapers on July 11 2008. The Sofia Echo has not verified these stories and cannot vouch for their accuracy.

Politics

- Tsarevo again made media headlines with a new construction row, Dnevnik daily reported. Tsarevo mayor Petko Arnaoudov had banned all construction on the municipality's territory during summer, but that apparently did not apply to a tourism training centre being built by the town hall together with the Labour Ministry, which was disrupting tourists' vacations.

- The Government sprinkled money over the hearth at Chelopechene, Sega daily reported, saying that on July 10 the Cabinet generously loosened its purse-strings for those affected by the July 3 blast at the military warehouse in Chelopechene and afforded the opportunity for absolutely everyone to be compensated.

Social

- Two thousand people stormed Kremikovtzi, Monitor daily said, reporting of the July 10 workers' protests before Sofia's steel mill.

- "Sunny, with thunders". The internet saw people responding to the blasts at Chelopechene with a volley of black humour, Dnevnik daily said.

Economy

- Bulgargaz was looking to borrow 700 million euro to pay its share of the South Stream project, Dnevnik daily said.

- The problems linked to issuing visas to Russian tourists are still hampering the work of tour operators, Dnevnik daily reported.
