Politics
- Bulgarians will witness a positional warfare in the tripartite coalition, Dnevnik daily quoted a member of Parliament from the ruling coalition as saying. None of the parties will have a chance to leave office, but they are all ready to present themselves in the best and most European light.
- Although only a few days ago the opposition threatened to launch protests as early as August, they have decided to postpone the boycott for September, Monitor daily said. The reason was that society was not ready for an effective strike.
Social
- An antique ship over 2000-years-old was destroyed in the most barbaric way by trawls of fishing ships, Monitor said. The antique ship lay in the sea near Kaliakra cape and was found by a US satellite.
Economy
- Five bidders applied for the reconstruction of Brussels Boulevard, which leads to Sofia Airport, Dnevnik said. Sofia city hall was the one to launch the tender. The results of the tender would be announced in mid-August.
- The automobile manufacturing plant of the French company Montupet SA in the Danube town of Rousse would be opened on September 12, Dnenvik said. Montupet would install its most modern equipment in the plant.
