- Another draft-law for amendments to the law on political parties' funding would be filed in parliament, Dnevnik daily said. The draft-law suggested a five-fold increase in state subsidies for parties, a ban on funding from companies and a cap on donations of up to 10 000 leva from individuals.
Social
- It would take at least two years for the ammunition depot in Chelopechene to be secured, Dnevnik said. Nearly 1490 tons of ammunitions exploded in the warehouses on July 3 2008.
An average of nine unemployed people were applying for each job in July 2008, Sega daily quoted National Employment Agency as saying.
- Hospital directors were panicking because of the lack of doctors and nurses, Monitor said. Young medics did not want to do half of the specialisations because they were not profitable enough.

- Bulgarian inventors had filed 55 international applications for patents, World Intellectual Property Organisation report for 2007 read, Dnevnik said.
