Politics
- Cabinet changes would be announced on Tuesday April 22, Bulgarian daily Dnevnik said. Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev was not expected to close ministries or open new ones.

- Five new ministers would be announced, Bulgarian daily Sega said. The power split in the coalition would be 3-1-1 between Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), National Movement for Stability and Progress (NMSP) and Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF).

Social

- Dnevnik quoted Bulgarian architects as saying that in cities, construction was undertaken without without plans or vision because of a lack of legal framework. The centre of Sofia was expected to be closed for 13 days over the long holidays in early May, Dnevnik said.

- According to Bulgarian daily 24 Chasa, pedestrian paths might be given in concession against the right to put up advertisement.

Economy

- Consumption of natural juices has seen a surprising growth, Dnevnik daily said, quoting figures published on April 20 by the Association of Non-Alcoholic Beverage Producers. Consumption of non-alcoholic drinks was up with more than 10 per cent compared with last year.

- Hotel owners protested against overcharged electricity bills, Sega said. Eighty per cent of hotel owners in Slunchev Bryag (Sunny Beach) were to demand an explanation from electricity company EVN on April 22.
