POWER PLANT IN BULGARIA PRODUCES 4.52 PER CENT MORE ELECTRICITY IN 2007 THAN PLANNED
15:24 Tue 03 Jul 2007

Nuclear power plant Kozloduy produced 8 335 514 200 kilowatt hours of electricity in the first six months of 2007.

The amount is 4.52 per cent higher than planned quantities, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported.

Kozloduy NPP planned to produce 7 975 184 800 kilowatt hours of electricity for the period but it managed to reach the amount on June 15.

The power plant used its two operational units of 1 000 megawatt capacity. Currently unit six works at its full capacity and unit five is under a planned annual reconstruction.

Worries arose about the functioning of the power plant after two of its units were shut down in the beginning of the year because of EU accession requirements.
