The Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) presented the poster for Bulgaria’s Winter Olympics 2014 bid.
The poster creation competition was carried out under the slogan Lets Do It Together, BGNES Sport Agency reported.
Eight artworks reached the final stage of the competition from a total number of 48 candidates.
A three-member committee selected the poster of Chavdar Todorov, a student at the national fine arts school as the official artwork for the bid. Five additional prizes were given.
Todorov’s poster depicts a glove. The tip of each finger features one of the symbols of Bulgaria’s capital. In this manner Todorov included the Alexander Nevski chapel and the St Sofia monument in his poster.
In few days Sofia would find out whether it would continue to the next selection round. On June 22 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will decide which candidate cities would maintain their chances of hosting the games in 2014.
