Captain of the national football team Dimitar Berbatov leads in an Eurosport poll for the selection of the best premiership forward player.
The footballers nominated include Berbatov for Tottenham, Dirk Kuyt for Liverpool, Beni McCarthy for Blackburn, Obafemi Martins for Newcastle and Andrei Shevchenko for Chelsea.
More than 20 000 Eurosport spectators voted in the poll already, Focus Sport agency reported.
Nearly 50 per cent of the viewers gave a vote for Berbatov. Martins ranks second, collecting 18 per cent of the votes.
Berbatov transferred to Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2006. The sum for the transfer reached 10.9 million pounds, making Berbatov the most expensive Bulgarian player so far.
Since the transfer, Berbatov has scored 12 goals for Tottenham, Focus Sport reported.
