President Georgi Purvanov and chairman of the Union of the Thracian Societies in Bulgaria Kostadin Karamitrev discussed on November 22 Bulgaria's policy towards Bulgarians abroad, as well as Bulgaria's engagements in the celebrating of important moments of Bulgarian history, a media statement by the Presidency press office said.

Purvanov said that the policy towards Bulgarians abroad would be one of his main priorities during his second mandate.

A discussion on the key points of Bulgaria's policy towards Bulgarians abroad was to be held within the framework of Тhe Bulgarian Debates initiative.

A positive assessment was made on the course of the campaign to celebrate 95 years since the Balkan War, which would be held under the patronage of the President.

The two discussed the idea that the closing ceremony of the celebration could place on March 26 2008, the day of the Edirne Epopee and also the day of Thracia.
