POLICE UNDERTAKE EXTRAORDINARY SECURITY MEASURES AFTER SHOOTING IN BULGARIA'S PETRICH

Many police officers continue guarding the Roma district in Bulgarian town of Petrich after a shooting On July 2.

A 23-year old man was killed and 23 people were injured during the incident, Focus news agency reported.

More than 100 Roma people gathered in front of the hospital where Valentin Stoikov died. Nearly 50 police officers denied access to visitors excluding the relatives of the victims.

Three people were the main participants in the shooting. The remaining became victims of accidental shooting.

Children were also injured during the incident among which a 10-year old child.

Police said that the incident resulted from a quarrel. The man responsible for the shooting has already been detained but relatives of Stoikov said that they would seek revenge.
