Police seized nearly 13 kg of heroin during a home-search in the town of Kyustendil.
The home-search was the result from a regular check of a car with a Bulgarian registration. Policemen noticed irregularities with the car's petrol tank. A closer examination revealed an empty hidden storagespace.
A sniffer dog reacted to the scent of drugs and police decided to search the home of the car owner, who was travelling in the vehicle with his wife in the moment he was pulled over by the police.
The drugs found in the apartment was divided in 26 packages of 0.5kg each, an Interior Ministry press release reported.
Two people were detained for 24 hours in relation to the case. Police was investigating the origin and destination of the drug.
