POLICE IN BULGARIA SEIZE HEROIN WORTH MORE THAN HALF A MILLION LEVA

Just more than six kg of heroin was seized at Lesovo border checkpoint in a Turkish- registered truck travelling from Turkey to Germany.

 

The truck was transporting electrical cables, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

 

Police found 12 packs containing a white substance in a bag in the driver’s cabin. On examination, the substance turned out to be high quality heroin.

 

The drug is worth more than 500 000 leva.

 

Since the beginning of 2007, customs officials at Lesovo have busted three heroin smuggling attempts totalling 112.936 kg.
