POLICE IN BULGARIA'S PLEVEN SEIZE COCAINE WORTH 50 000 EURO

Police officers in Bulgaria's Pleven seized cocaine worth nearly 50 000 euro on June 4.

This is the biggest police operation targeting drugs distribution in north Bulgaria in the past years, supervising prosecutor Hristo Surdzhiiski said.

Police officers detained two men aged 32 and 28 in the centre of Pleven. They were carrying a package containing three pictures.

Cocaine was hidden in the frames of the pictures in nylon packages.

One of the men has criminal record but has never been sentenced.

The price for one gr of cocaine in Pleven is 120 leva.

According to police statistics, specialised police actions on the territory of Pleven since the beginning of the year led to the seizure of 70 gr heroin, 256 dozes of heroin, 15 dozes of cocaine and 5 kg of marijuana.
