Plovdiv municipality received only three million leva for the storage of 200 000 tons of Sofia's waste in the waste dump near the village of Tsalapitsa, a municipal media statement said on November 14.

Plovdiv Mayor Slavcho Atanasov would send a letter to Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev to clarify the situation.

The municipality said Government promised 47 million leva for Sofia's waste. It was because of the promised money that the Plovdiv municipal council agreed to the use of Tsalapitsa to store Sofia's waste.

The agreed quota would be used up in the coming week, zagrada said on November 14.
At about the same time, the Karlovo waste dump quota would be used.

Sofia's municipality and the Environment Ministry discussed five variants for Sofia's waste. One of the variants would be for the waste to be continued to be stored at the dump at Tsalapitsa, but Plovdiv's mayor Slavcho Atanasov said on November 12 that he would not agree with that.
