In the morning of June 14, medics from Pirogov emergency institute once again blocked traffic on a central crossing in Sofia.
During the 30-minute protest, medics allowed the massage of public transportation vehicles only.
“We are protesting in demand of higher wages, provision of better equipment and a change in the Status of Pirogov. We are protesting for all citizens,” head of the Pirogov strike committee Krustuy Penchev said.
Penchev said that if demands are not met by June 15, medics are considering the possibility for holding rallies throughout the capital.
At the same time Health Ministry said that it reached an agreement with Pirogov representatives and unions concerning three demands.
On June 6, Health Minister Radoslav Gaidarski met hospital representatives to discuss their demands. Demands presented during the protest were ambiguous and controversial, Health Ministry said.
