Piano feast in the heart of Sofia

Bulgarian-born pianist Desislava Bobrina, aged 20, will perform a piano concert at 7pm on July 8 in Bulgaria Chamber Hall, located on 1 Aksakov Str., after three successful solo concerts on Bulgarian stage in 2006 and 2007.

The repertoire of the concert includes pieces by composers Beethoven, Clementi, Scarlatti, Chopin, and Debussy. The audience can enjoy a performance of Sonata Fantasia in F minor, Op. 29 by Chopin, the work for piano Island of Joy by Debussy, and Sonata №11 in G bemol major, Op. 22 by Beethoven.

Born in Bulgaria in 1988, Bobrina is currently a student in the piano class of renowned piano teacher Yury Airapetyan at the Moscow State Conservatory. She graduated the Central Musical School class taught by Miroslava Marchenko.

Bobrina first appeared on stage at the early age of 7. The pianist’s list of achievements includes many prestigious awards, among which distinctions from the Alexander Grechaninov Moscow Children’s Festival in 1999, the Festival of Children’s Art in Moscow in 2003, the Competition of the Central Musical School of Moscow State Conservatory in 2003, first place at the Sergei Rachmaninov festival in Moscow in 2003.

For the past few years, Bobrina has been performing on stages of world renown. The Grand Hall of Moscow State Conservatory, the Alexander Pushkin Museum and the Sergei Taneyev Museum in Moscow, the Saint Petersburg Music Academy have all hosted Bobrina’s piano concerts. Her talent has also been recognised in Belarus and Bulgaria, where she has performed the series Music in the Palace in the National Art Gallery and the Bulgaria Chamber Hall in Sofia.
